Description Peer educators share their experiences in order to give the teens hope, confidence, and a safe environment. The educators and the teens discuss AIDS, sexuality, violence, drugs, alcohol and gangs. By sharing their personal experiences the teens begin to heal old wounds, build self esteem, and overcome feelings of shame and fear. A Survival Kit is also available with information on disease prevention and public speaking skills for the teen peer educators. The program trains the teens to become peer educators themselves. The Brigade is teen driven and exists because of the participation of the teens.
