Description The Chief Clerk of the Senate is responsible for the Senate's operation. He acts as custodian of bills, documents, papers, writings, and records, attends every session, calls roll, presides over readings of the bills, amendments, memorials, resolutions, and papers, prepares calendar, keeps recorded order, keeps a journal of the proceedings, presents bills to the Governor, controls the rooms, performs other duties, and supervises the Senate staff.
